Zayn Malik is reportedly seeking the help of co-singer Adele to conquer his anxiety attacks following his backing out at the 2016 Capital FM Summertime Ball.
The 23-year-old singer and former One Direction member Zayn Malik confirmed that he had an anxiety attack prior to his first solo performance.
Zayn Malik took to Twitter to apologize on the cancellation of his performance saying, “Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.”
“With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career,” he added. “I cannot apologize enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I’ve let down today.”
According to The Sunday Mirror, Zayn Malik’s team has already reached out to “When We Were Young” singer Adele who had overcome her own panic attacks and anxiety issues at the onset of her career.
“Zayn’s management are doing everything they can to help him because its having a major impact on his career,” an insider dished out to the publication.
“I believe she been in touch with Adele’s manager Johnathan Dickins about it because Adele got a lot of help with panic attacks and stage fright – and look at her now.”
At the start of Adele’s career, she has admitted that she is afraid to perform in big crowds such as festivals.
“I have anxiety attacks, constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it’s going to explode because I never feel like I’m going to deliver, ever,” Adele said in a previos interview. “I will not do festivals. The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me.”
