Xiaomi Rolls Out New Firmware Update, Launches Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Prime

It’s not just Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus that were launched yesterday; the tech world also marked the launch of two more smartphones – Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime.

The Chinese company, while unveiling these two phones in its own country, also rolled out MIUI 7, a firmware update for already existing Xiaomi smartphones.

What are Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime bundled with?

There is not much difference between these two phones. Both have 5.5-inch screens with 1080 x 920 pixels along with 13 megapixel rear cameras, and both are running on Android v5.0.

The only difference between Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime is that the Note 2 Prime has a different processor clock speed. Also, whereas the Note 2 comes with 16GB internal memory, Note 2 Prime comes with 32GB.

More about MIUI7

Based on the operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop, this firmware update will offer 5 colorful themes to its users, Goddess being the one designed especially for women.

As the phone comes with face recognition, the smartphone will automatically sort images as per people’s faces in the gallery.

Would these smartphones have demand?

This brand will sell its products to people whose technological needs are basic, especially the ones who are not much into multimedia, or those who use their phones for any kind of official work. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime are decent buys.
