Recent weeks has seen quite a few rumors about the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and its specs. Leaked information has confirmed at least some of the rumors including the one claiming the device will come with 6GB of RAM.
Most renders of the Mi Note 2 show striking similarity with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. This includes the Note 7’s dual-camera setup and its curved display.
It would be interesting to see the Korean tech juggernaut cry foul if the renders indeed prove to be accurate. Note that Apple and Samsung have been flinging lawsuits at each other over design issues several times in the past.
But before the Samsung flexes its capitalist muscle; let’s see what has been confirmed regarding the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Aside from the generous 6GB of RAM, the device is also rumored to be released with the latest incarnation of Google’s OS, Android Nougat.
A 128GB version is also rumored to be offered once the phone is released. SD card capacity or whether it will have any at all is yet to be confirmed. It terms of display we can expect screen size of 5.5 inches or more in diameter.
The leak also points to the Mi Note 2 being equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. This refutes previous claims that the device will get the Snapdragon 821 chipset.
Seeing that most of the leaked images were taken in complete darkness, it is yet to be confirmed if the Mi Note 2 will have curved edges. However, considering that Samsung might hinder its sales due to copyright issues they might have decided against it.
There is still no concrete release date for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2.With the IFA happening in next week, hopefully we don’t have to wait too long.
