Xiaomi executives have confirmed the release of Xiaomi Mi 5 on February 24. To excite users more, Hugo Barra recently revealed screenshots of the phone’s design while its specs were also listed under GFXBench listing. Will the Xiaomi Mi 5 be a killer?
Xiaomi Mi 5 has been gaining attention, as reported features make it seem like an exciting handset. Whereas there have been many leaks and photo concepts floating around, it is not until now that people get to see a part of its build and screen. GSM Arena reports catching a glimpse of the phone’s glass back panel from a Chinese source. The new photo shows the panel including several standout components. The material seemingly has a pattern including a gold hue. This has ignited interest over whether the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in several options including White, Pink and Black editions.
Furthermore, the GFXBench listing also revealed specs of the device. According to the listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch, 1080p display including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 SoC. Memory options are 3GB for RAM and 64GB for storage. Additionally, there were also reports of other memory choices like 4GB, 16GB, 32GB and 128GB versions.
Xiaomi’s founder, Hugo Barra, also revealed on Facebook more hints about the Xiaomi Mi 5. His post revealed what people could expect from the device’s screenshot. He also captioned, “Here’s a little sneak preview of my #Mi5 home screen. Can your eagle eyes spot what’s new with Mi and coming to you on February 24?”
It is easily seen that Xiaomi will be offering a dual-SIM option based on the icons. Early reports say that the company wanted to include a microSD slot on the device, which will pair well with the dual-SIM option. Furthermore, analysts expect the dual-SIM feature to be an advantage for Xiaomi since not many competitors offer it.
