While the world is waiting in anticipation for the Xioami Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus to appear at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the Chinese company surprised its fans with the launch of another smartphone, the Mi 4s.
The phone launched in China ahead of the Mi 5 launch date. It will go on sale in the region from March 1 and will be available in varied color options such as gold, purple, black and white variants. The price will be 699 Yuan (approx. US$107).
Defined by a slim contour and impressive features, the Xioami Mi 4s has close resemblance to the last year’s Mi 4i. It seems that the new device stands between the existing Mi 4 and the upcoming Mi 5. GSM Arena reports, that the Xioami Mi 4s is covered with glass panel both in front and on the rear side with metal frame in between. The phone measures 139.26×70.76×7.8 mm and weighs 133grames. It has a 5-inches screen with 1,920×1,080 resolution. Under the hood, the phone tucks in Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and is powered by 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage space. Camera features are 13MP sensor for the rear camera with PDAF and two-tone LED flash. The other connectivity options include support for 4G+ with VoLTE, USB Type-C port and dual SIM features. The device runs on MIUI 7 and packs up a 3,260mAH battery along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support.
The predecessor of the Mi 4s, the Mi 4, was launched in July 2014. Data record states that the device acquired the third place in Most Active Android Device Ranking list. And it earned more than 16 million sales by the end of Jan’ 2016, reports MIUI.
