The Xbox One backwards compatibility program continues to grow, while Microsoft is also set to give games a treat with the new Xbox free games with gold lineup for September.
What could be these games? Will this new set of backwards-compatible title finally include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? The anticipated announcement of the four new Xbox games with gold is also making noise.
Express UK reported that one of the new games included in the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature has already been revealed.
As confirmed by Larry Hryb, the Call of Duty 2 can now be played via the backwards compatibility feature. This is already the second Call of Duty title to make it to the compatibility list, following the inclusion of Call of Duty: Black Ops earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be part of the Games with Gold September lineup, which will be available by Sept. 1.
“This westernized turn-based RPG, which in subtle ways reveals its Scandinavian origin, starts as a simple quest, but develops into a deeper journey,” Microsoft said in a post. “Play as Amon and join several unlikely heroes to save Umbra, a beautiful but harsh world that mysteriously stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago.”
On the other hand, The BitBag reported that some close to classic games have already been added in the growing inventory of titles playable through the Microsoft gaming console’s backwards compatibility feature.
The report said that Bomberman Live: Battlefest is now playable on Xbox One. Regarded as the “ultimate party game,” the Bomberman title will “blast your way through a dozen arenas with more gimmicks, more power-ups, more game modes, and more costumes.”
