The X Factor UK is the much awaited musical competition of the year and it is soon to hit the small screens. There will some high profile comebacks and lots of new things to expect in the upcoming season.
The show has seen a number of exits. With Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora all leaving the show, Simon Cowell was the only one who remained. X Factor UK is thus bringing back the popular old panel of judges that includes Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger along with Cowell, the Mirror reported.
Now that the names on the judges’ panel have been officially confirmed, it remains to be seen who will be assigned to lead each category. As the rumors have it, Cowell will be mentoring the girls and it is the first time he takes on this category. Scherzinger will guide the boys, and she has already proven highly successful in doing so. Osbourne gets the least popular overs category and Walsh gets the group, the InStyle UK reported.
And it is not only the judges who are returning this season, Dermot O’Leary will be returning as the show host after a year off and he has the full support of Cowell behind him. According to insiders, O’Leary, who was paid $1 million a series, could be signed on a potential three-year contract with the discretion to quote his price for the contract, the Sun reported.
“Dermot will come back to The X Factor. Talks are under way on his deal but everything is positive,” the insider said. “Everyone, including Dermot and Simon, has the will to make it work.”
Olly Murs and Caroline Flack were ousted from the show following a poor performance and the bosses have confirmed that the duo has no chance of returning.
