There have been no signs of the Undertaker since his match with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32. The Dead Man won that match though the underlying stipulations hardly mattered.
To recall, Undertaker’s legacy was on the line if he lost. A win would deprive Shane-O-Mac control of Raw. Despite the younger McMahon’s valiant efforts, Taker still won as expected. But could the stakes of the match be a reason why he has been a no-show?
With SummerSlam coming in a couple of weeks, Undertaker would normally be in the cards. But rewinding a bit, he wasn’t even part of the WWE draft. Did he beg off?
There is a lot of mystery tied up to the Phenom and rumors are running wild. Some claimed that Vince McMahon is having trouble confirming if Taker will be back for WrestleMania 33.
Was WrestleMania 32 the last ride?
Before WrestleMania 32 came, many were under the impression that it would be his last match. But the problem is that the man chosen to send him off properly was injured – John Cena. With Cena out, a match with Shane McMahon was held instead.
But the question there was on whether it was the Undertaker’s last ride or not? With no signs of him, there are some who believe that it may just be the case. The problem is that nothing has been made official.
Still under contract with the WWE
Technically, Undertaker is still under contract with the WWE. He may not be associated with either Raw or SmackDown but he can be called upon at any moment. He may appear on either brand at some point. If not, he could re-appear at a pay-per-view soon.
Should he return, there is likely one match to do and this is with Cena. WrestleMania 33 is the best place to hold that but the WWE and the Dead Man need to straighten out things – starting with his actual status and contract.
