Roman Reigns is getting another shot at the Universal title, placing the United States title in a dire predicament. While the Big Dog can easily hold on to it and possibly hold both titles, most believe that this scenario will be high risk.
As most fans know, Reigns hasn’t exactly improved as far as acceptance with the WWE universe. The boos and jeers are still there and the new run for the Universal title alone is already under debate.
Reviving The Importance Of The United States Championship
Aside from that fact, the United States title has lost its luster since Reigns won it from Rusev. The two were into a physical feud but all that has died when the “Big Dog” got mixed up with Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho.

Moving forward, many feel that the United States title is best held by someone else. Names like John Cena, Sami Zayn or even Titus O’Neil have been suggested though a match with Reigns could be sketchy, Bleacher Report reported.
After becoming the no. 1 contender to Kevin Owens’ Universal title at the Nov. 28 edition of WWE Raw, Roman Reigns will try to pry the title away from “KO” at WWE Roadblock set for Dec. 18. It remains to be seen if the title will change hands.
How should Roman Reigns relinquish the United States title?
As for the US title, it could be given up in one of two ways. One is Roman Reigns being asked to give up the title or possibly having a match where the “Big Dog” will lose it to the one Mick Foley or Stephanie McMahon chooses.
There is still time to set that up though it isn’t likely to be a serious twist in Roman Reigns’ run. Then again, there is the possibility of Chris Jericho winning the title from Reigns which all the more ups the stakes at WWE Roadblock.
