The WWE held its Manila leg live event recently with a lot of star-filled matches. On hand to give the Filipinos present at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila were John Cena, Big Show, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and more.
As far as the results, there were no eye-openers as expected. Some however did append storylines, the ones that mattered.
Cesaro Wins Again
Cesaro, injured and all, won over Sheamus via submission. The Swiss Superman locked on a sharpshooter to cut down the “Celtic Warrior’s” series lead 3-2.
Cena is in the House
John Cena was surprisingly around after being absent from the regular shows. He went up against the Big Show in what was a battle of WWE vets. The Cenation Leader won as expected, even hearing it from the crowd with some AJ Styles chants. Obviously the Filipino fans were following the WWE storylines, including the last match at WWE SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns Spears Jericho
Roman Reigns got his share of boos from the predominant Filipino crowd though all of it got drowned out in the end. He won over Jericho who hurled called the Philippines a stinky place out of jest of course. Reigns ended this matchup with a spear, reminiscent of the one he gave to Y2J last Monday on Raw.
The main match of the evening saw another Triple Threat match featuring Rollins, Zayn and Owens. Owens won the match as usual following a powerbomb on Zayn. The notable part was the handshake by Rollins on Zayn after the match.
Zayn was the star of the evening though one has to wonder if this was the start of Rollins face-turn.
Owens on the other hand is set to face Reigns this Monday on Raw. If Reigns wins, he injects himself at the WWE Clash of the Champions, making it a Triple Threat between him, Owens and Rollins for the Universal tite.
