The WWE has been aggressively looking for new talent to add to Raw and SmackDown, mostly covering former employees who are veterans inside the ring. But there is another source that the WWE gets talent from like the NFL. That said, could Rob Gronkowski be a candidate?
Rob Gronkowski has been used sparingly by the New England Patriots mainly because the tight end is dealing with a hamstring injury. The 27-year-old player is reportedly being preserved by the Patriots for later this NFL season, CBS reported.
Rob Gronkowski In The WWE Soon?
However, the NFL is not the only medium that Rob Gronkowski has been mentioned in. In a dish by Mojo Rawley on Good Morning San Diego, a possible stint with the WWE has been tossed into the mix.

Rawley apparently has close ties with “Gronk” and mentioned something about possibly seeing the tight end in the WWE ring – someday. The heat was turned up a notch when Rawley said that Rob Gronkowski is in fact ‘dying’ to get into the WWE bandwagon.
“Trust me, we’ve had that conversation many times, me and Gronk, and he is dying to get in the ring.”
Rawley played college football with Gronkowski’s brothers (Dan and Chris) at the University of Maryland but cautioned that this will not happen as long as football season is ongoing. Could something to the like happen at a big event like Wrestlemania 33?
Assuming this rant does gain any ground, a Rob Gronkowski coming will be nothing new. The WWE has a lot of stars who have roots in the NFL such as Roman Reigns, Jim Neidhart, Ron Simmons and Bill Goldberg.
If this is indeed in the plans of Rob Gronkowski, it may not happen for as long as he can still handle things on the football field. Seeing his spate of injuries, however, all that could depend on when his body can take the pounding for the Patriots or any other NFL team he could eventually end up with.
