British defense chiefs are standing up to the Russian “threat,” issuing a warning to Moscow that it will be prepared for war should things come to such. In fact, reports indicate that Britain has sent tanks, drones and 800 soldiers to the Russian border as tensions continue to grow. Will things escalate to full-out war?
The United Kingdom made it clear that forces will be prepared for a collision course if it comes to such, according to Defense Secretary Sir Michael Fallon. NATO is also “waking up to the challenge” of a resurgent Russia. The statement came following the warning from Admiral Lord West saying that “war is coming and Britain is not ready.”
Britain Tells Putin It Is Ready For War
“We have seen much greater Russian aggression this year, and in previous years, in terms of long-range aviation, in terms of submarine activity, and the carrier task group that sailed through our waters, the role of Russia in Syria and elsewhere,” said Fallon before the Defense Select Committee via the Daily Star.
When asked if Britain will have the capability to go to war with Russia in 2018 or 2019, he has this to say: “Yes, we would be ready to increase the tempo in that kind of situation, which I don’t immediately foresee.
“And, of course, we will not be doing this on our own.”
However, despite the claims of other analysts that Russia and Britain will not go to war just yet, it appears that the UK is preparing for some defensive forces.
According to a report from Express, the country sent tanks, drones and 800 soldiers to the Russian border as tensions continue to rise. The show of muscle came after Russia’s fleet passed by through the British coast. The troops and forces are part of the biggest build-up ever since the Cold War with other Western allies in participation.
