Russia is making a play for the Baltics. According to reports, the country has a Black Sea sub ready for war, while NATO does little to diffuse tensions. Is the next world war set?
Some analysts believe that Russia is eyeing the Baltics. With the presidency of Donald Trump raising doubts on the stability of NATO, Russia could reportedly have a chance to do what it wants.
Trump made no secret about his relations with Russia and pulling out of NATO. This could change the power dramatically, according to analysts. Now, Russian President Vladimir Putin could be planning something big for the Baltics.
Putin’s Terrifying Black Sea Sub Threatens To Break NATO
According to reports, Russia’s naval forces has revealed latest super-stealth submarine ready for the Black Sea. This raised concerns over Russia’s intentions to take over the region.
The Sun reported that Kremlin bosses previously promised they will never allow NATO to take over the sea. They also believe that the alliance could go down if the U.S. pulls out because of Trump.
“The balance of power in the Black Sea is changing in Russia’s favor. Moscow is enhancing its Black Sea fleet and will possess a stronger navy than Turkey in the coming decade if its plans for expansion and modernization are fully realized,” a report by the Center for European Policy Analysis claimed.
NATO Should Bring Peace
Tory MP Daniel Kawczynski, on the other hand, said that NATO should help diffuse tensions instead. The official said that the West should act as a bridge to ease tensions.
“It suits neither us, nor the Russians to have this level of tension,” Kawczynski told RT. “Of course, it [Russia] is an equal partner, it is an equal partner within the UN Security Council, we must treat them as an equal partner.”
