Fans were excited after Warner Bros. decided to cast Star Trek’s Chris Pine to play Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie. The teaser trailer screened at SDCC has already teased the romance shared on screen between the actor and Gal Gadot, who plays Diana Prince.
The 36-year-old actor will be playing a young USAF pilot as revealed in the trailer. However, there were early rumors suggesting Chris Pine has two roles in Wonder Woman.
The rumor began when it was revealed that Wonder Woman will take place in three timelines. Since then, fans believe that Chris Pine would also play Steve Trevor’s grandfather.
While the rumor continued to gain traction among the audience, Chris has finally put an end to it. During a recent talk with The Huffington Post, the actor outright shattered the speculation with a “No,” after he was questioned if he would play roles other than Steve Trevor in the movie.
Chris also spoke about his character as the love interest. He said, “It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot.” He added that “it was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action.”
Wonder Woman will be released on June 2, 2017. The movie will contain multiple villains. Ares has already been confirmed along with actress Elena Anaya playing a mysterious troublesome role.
Currently, DCEU is setting up their panel at NYCC. Fans can spot the official Wonder Woman poster from Javits Center in the image below. Attendees are hoping Warner Bros. would reveal a new clip from Patty Jenkin’s film.
