People have been eagerly waiting for the Windows 10 Lumia update but the rollout of Microsoft’s latest operating system to old Windows phones kept getting delayed. After postponing its December 2015 release, Microsoft confirmed that the Windows 10 mobile upgrade will roll out this year. Early January, the company said that it will be released soon without any mention of dates.
Vodafone Australia has published a “Software Update Weekly Wrap” where the current status of Windows 10 Lumia update has been given. Following are the devices listed in the chart:
- Lumia 640,
- Lumia 640 XL,
- Lumia 735 and
- Lumia 930
In the current status section, the chart reads, “Testing complete, awaiting confirmation of rollout schedule.” This means that the work has been done on Vodafone Australia‘s part, but again, no dates have been given by Microsoft for a Windows 10 Lumia roll-out. But after the process is completed, Windows phone users can expect to receive the latest operating system soon.
The OS’ release on other Lumia handsets may also be around the corner. The company has confirmed that Lumia 430, 532, 535, 540, 640, 640 XL, 735, 830 and 930 will be among the first devices to get Windows 10. Phones running on Windows 8 come next. A few days ago, there has been stories around the web saying that select Lumia handsets have already received the Windows 10 mobile update. This seems to be only a rumor as there is no word from the company about such roll-out.
Keep your fingers crossed as we wait for Microsoft to talk about Windows 10 Lumia update and at last give us the dates of release.
