Wimbledon gets underway on Monday with top-seeds Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams starting their campaign on the first day in center-court.
Defending champion Djokovic will start action as he takes on Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany at 13:00 BST.
On Court One, Serena Williams, who’s eying a Grand Slam after two major title wins this calender year, shall feature against Russia’s Margarita Gasparyan.
Johanna Konta, one of four Britons to play on day 1, will be challenging former champion Maria Sharapova in the 2nd match at center court.
French Open champion Stan Wawrinka shall also play on day 1 against Portugal’s Joao Sousa.
Hot weather is in forecast for the opening few days of the tournament with temperature expected to rise to 30 degree Celsius. Andy Murray, Laura Robson, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Petra Kvitova will be among those in action on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 8th seed David Ferrer has pulled out of this edition of Wimbledon with an elbow injury. He will be replaced by a lucky loser from the qualifiers Italy’s Luca Vanni.
