The Results of Day 4 from the Center Court are here.
“Playing first time on Centre Court – I’ve never been on the court before – I thought I’d freak out but it felt very familiar. My plan was to come and play good tennis. I didn’t think past 9pm tonight,” said Dustin Brown after knocking out former champion Rafael Nadal.
Germany’s world number 102, Brown defeated Nadal 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
10th seed Nadal had to bow out early from the Wimbledon for the fourth time in a row, and on each occasion he was beaten by a player outside World’s top 100.
This is Brown’s second win over Nadal in grass court. The 29 year old Spaniard has now lost in the second, first, fourth and second rounds of his past four visits to Wimbledon.
“My game makes him not play his game. He doesn’t get in a rhythm. The set he beat me he passed me unbelievable, “added Brown.
Brown will take on Serbian 22nd seed Viktor Troicki in third round on Saturday.
Britain’s Andy Murray reached the round of 32 with a comfortable win over Dutchman Robin Haase. The third seeded Scot won 6-1 6-1 6-4 on court one. He will now face Italian Andreas Seppi on Saturday.
“I am very happy with the way I played,” Murray told BBC Sport.
“I felt there were things I could do better in the first round but today I did things much better. I felt like I dictated the baseline rallies.”
Another Briton James Ward also rolled to 3rd round.
