Is Will Smith ready to drop his acting career and pursue one in politics? Is wife Jada Pinkett-Smith so unsupportive of the idea that she’s ready to divorce him if he decides to pursue it?
According to Radar Online, yes and yes. The rumor site claimed that Will Smith has a current obsession to change the course of his career. He recently jokingly said that “people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff” that as a result, he’s thinking of entering the political area. “I mean, I gotta be the president. Come on! What else would I run for?” he said.
While his words can be taken in jest, Radar Online reported that the actor is quite serious. He is so serious about pursuing a career in politics that his wife Jada is now very upset.
Will has put $100 million aside and is currently locking in a strategy that will see him ditch Hollywood for an all-out assault on landing a seat in the Senate or the House of Representatives,” the source revealed.
“He’s tired of making movies and wants a new challenge, away from Hollywood and to a more intellectual environment,” added the source.
Jada does not like the idea of him changing career because it meant Will Smith will have to move his family from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. This is something he is very willing to do, the source revealed. However, this prompted Jada to call him selfish. “He and Jada have clashed about this big time,” said the source. “She says he’s being delusional and selfish.”
Radar Online added that if this continues, their marriage will be affected negatively.
Of course, all of these can just be from the active imagination of the gossipmongers.
Just last year, the divorce rumors got so intense that many called Will Smith to offer him their “deepest condolences.” The actor was also pushed to respond to these rumors himself.
“In the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness… Jada and I are…NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he stated on his Facebook.
Jada Pinkett-Smith then also addressed the rumors on American Way Magazine. She said these rumors often emerge whenever fans feel something different with them, even though changes are normal. “Marriages go through shifts,” the actress, 43, said.
“Relationships go through shifts because in life things shift. So people are automatically like, ‘What’s going on? They must be getting a divorce.’ Well, no. But when people feel those shifts and there’s a mystery, they have to fill it with something,” she added.
