When all the ladies, Rita Ora and Rachel Roy are denying the fact being the ‘Becky with the good hair’, here is someone who has smartly stepped into the limelight to claim herself to be one of Jay-Z’s Beckys. If she said it then it must be true, right?
Karrine Steffans, video vixen, 37 and wife of Columbus Short, the Scandal actor has recently published a new essay in response to the ‘Becky with Good Hair’ controversy for Lemonade by Beyonce.
“Chauffeured away from the set, down the winding road, and closer to the shoreline, Jay and I feasted on our attraction to one another — rabidly and quickly,” wrote Karrine on her blog, Xo Jane. “After just a few minutes, I lifted my head from his lap, wiped my lips, and knew we’d made a mistake.”
Karrine clarified though that she had come across Jay-Z in 1999 in Jay-Z’s pre-Beyonce days. Still, she was one his girls.
Karrine had appeared in the Singer’s video in 1999, called “Hey Papi” from where they become more than workmates to lovers, as Daily Mail puts it. Steffans also claims that she and the “Holy Grail” entertainer had some “time alone” together one night after shooting the video, as US Magazine reported.
Whether or not these are true, it does not matter. Beyonce after all hinted on she was cheated on by Jay-Z by this specific Becky. If Steffans is detailing an experience before Jay-Z married Beyonce, her story is hardly relevant.
Beyonce hinted Jay-Z had not been faithful in the recent songs on her new album Lemonade. “He only want me when I’m not on there / He better call Becky with the good hair’, is the line from “Sorry” that had her fans in a frenzy to look for Jay-Z’s mistress.
