Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith posted a video on Periscope, in which he is apparently smoking marijuana.
After the video emerged on social media, there was intense discussion about the athlete’s drug abuse. According to 247 Sports, the Periscope video was called “Fire up session.” The video was posted by an account that surely belongs to Smith.
The athlete’s username on the Periscope account is “Ricky,” and the account was named “ravenga.” The video never showed his face; however, a voice can be heard which sounds like the Raiders linebacker. Another voice of an unknown female can be heard as the camera shows a lit marijuana blunt.
As a social media service, Periscope allows users to broadcast an event live on the internet and have other users view it.
The Periscope account has posted 31 videos in total and has 133 followers. The video with the marijuana was posted two weeks ago and since then has received a lot of attention.

The raiders athlete has been living miles from the spotlight these days, as he is serving a calendar-year suspension for defying the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
The Periscope video places the athlete in a questionable position again. This is because of his history of misappropriation with current suspension, previous DUI convictions, and pending misdemeanor charges of DUI with a prior conviction. He had also been involved in an hit-and-run accident and vandalism, which was given by the Santa Clara County District Attorney, said CSN Bay Area.
“Oh, that’s a (expletive deleted) (inaudible)? Oh, a (inaudible)?” asked the female in the video.
“You’re stupid. You’re tripping. (Expletive deleted), they don’t know it’s me. It’s not like I put ‘Aldon Smith,'” said the male voice.
Smith had signed a two-year deal based on a $11.5 million contract with the Oakland Raiders that includes no guaranteed money.
