WATCH: Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth Make Out At American Music Awards 2015

Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth made out after their performances, surprising viewers and the audience, at the American Music Awards 2015.

After performing their singles “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” and “Marvin Gaye,” Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth surprised the audience when they made out at the American Music Awards 2015.

The duo started working together last year when Puth made a cameo on Trainor’s single, “Dear Recent Husband,” according to Entertainment Weekly. He said, “I played her a very early demo version of ‘Marvin Gaye.’ And she memorized the song and sang it in the studio a week later. … She’s taken me on and introduced me to her fans – they call themselves the Megatrons, and they’ve kind of adopted me.”

According to Los Angeles Times, Luke Bryan, who won the award for the favorite country male artist shortly after the kiss, said, “I’m still laughing at that Charlie and Meghan getting it on with a little smooch. It kept rolling after the commercial break.” Ellen DeGeneres tweeted her reaction to the duo’s act, saying, “@CharliePuth was amazing. So was that kiss. I had to cover the dog’s eyes.”

The two have achieved tremendous success in the last two years, and both have found themselves at No. 1 in the Hot 100. At the 2015 AMAs, Puth and Trainor came together to perform a medley of her single, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” and the duo’s “Marvin Gaye.”

“They’re just friends,” a rep said when asked about the duo’s relationship.
