Activision finally confirmed the release of their new title, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The announcement was officially unveiled to us with the new trailer which features several gameplay footages, explains primary details of the story and the official release date of the much awaited FPS of the year. The trailer is available below.
The game is all set to release worldwide on November 4th for all platforms (Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC) and, as teased by the heritage video, the game is being developed by Infinity Ward. This year’s game introduces campaign events in a new format for the Call of Duty series in space. As seen in the trailer, the game is introducing a new suit with different abilities and weapons. The players experience throughout the game will be a fair share of ground battle and Space missions. Activision said it’s a “near seamless experience with few visible loading times.”
The game’s campaign story will be featuring the player as Captain Reyes, a Tier 1 Special Operations pilot controlling one of Earth’s last remaining warships. The combat in space will be “a key aspect of the campaign.”
Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg said, “This year, we’re both honoring the heritage of Call of Duty while taking players to incredible new heights, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a bold, new vision from the studio that created the original Call of Duty and Modern Warfare, and an adventure on an insanely epic scale that only Call of Duty could deliver.”
Infinity Ward’s Studio head, Dave Stohl also said, “With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, we are taking Call of Duty to places fans have never experienced in the series. On one hand, this game is the kind of gritty, boots on the ground, visceral war story that Call of Duty is known for. On the other, its future setting takes players on a journey of epic scale and proportions, providing incredible gameplay innovations and new experiences for our fans. This is a grand scale, old-school, all-out war in an epic new-school setting. And it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun.”
Activision has also confirmed its multiplayer and Zombie mode however, details are not enough to determine the modes, the Zombie mode is a co-op with its very own storyline and it’s different from campaign mode. More information will be revealed “later this year.”
