Lori Mae Hernandez, a 13-year-old stand-up comedian, drew standing ovation from the judges and the audience on America’s Got Talent 2016 after she linked presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump to one of her jokes.
She was able to pull off a funny take on babysitting qualifications so well on America’s Got Talent 2016. The audience, as well as the judges, burst into laughter and paid her a standing ovation when she finished her short act. But the winning moment was when she nailed Trump and his lack of qualifications to become the president of the United States.
Hernandez said she had turned down a big offer to be on America’s Got Talent. “Have you ever seen Disney channel?” she asked the audience. “Well, I was gonna babysit two little girls who really like Disney channel.”
She said that her only qualification to become a babysitter was that she used to be a baby and took a sharp jibe at Trump, comparing it with his aspirations to become the president of the United States from being a reality show host.
“Hey, you’re sick a lot. Do you want to be my doctor?’ Or, ‘Weren’t you the host of a reality show? You want to be president of the United States?'” she said.
The 13-year-old has been a stand-up comedian since she was 10. When asked what inspired her to start performing stand-up comedy, she said that it was an effort to make her father, who was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, to smile.
In one of the moments during her performance, when the scene cut to show her parent’s reaction, her father could be seen smiling with pride. Watch Hernadez’s performance below.
