Sam and Dean Winchester’s father, John Winchester, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan in “Supernatural,” has come aboard the zombie world.
As the actor is expected to appear in the season finale of “The Walking Dead” as Negan, the baseball bat-armed Negan famous in the comic book series of the same title shared his views on how he is to appear in the hit TV series.
As reported by Vulture, Morgan will appear in “The Walking Dead” season 6 finale, according to the spoilers. In fact, his participation will be more concentrated come “The Walking Dead” season 7 as he is expected to be the one to kill the rejuvenated Glenn.
During an interview with EW Radio, Morgan said, “The character itself is going to be as close as humanly possible.” He added, “Look, it’s a speedy bump. I’m not going to say it’s an issue because they’re working on it. We’re going to push AMC – the plan is to push them as far as they can because it’s who Negan is. He uses some colorful language. And I use some colorful language. And reading the comic, it’s important. So we’ll see where that lands.”
“It’s our intention that this character is going to leap off the pages of the comic book. It’s very important that that’s who it is. Some of the characters there’s much more leeway, but Negan is a guy that you want to keep as true as possible, and that would be how I want to play him as well.”
According to the comic book version, Negan uses profanity frequently throughout the series. With this fact, the actor maintained that he will practice restrain in delivering profanity to avoid disrupting how the show’s lines would be heard through TV without losing his character altogether.
In other news, Entertainment Weekly revealed the excitement that Morgan relayed during an interview wherein he stated, “I’m really f—ing excited. I was familiar. I watched the show, one. But two, I’ve always had a foot in the comic book world. I grew up with my uncle’s comic books at my grandma’s house, so I’ve always loved by comic book reading. And then that took on a whole new level when I did ‘Watchmen’. I go to Comic-Con every year, generally with some project of some sort.”
According to Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he was approached by makers of “The Walking Dead” and was told that his acting skills were needed, although they failed to inform him further about the character. All he knew then was that his role would be the big new baddie in the series. He had automatically responded, “We’re (responding to his agent and manager) going to f—ing do it!” Seems like Morgan and Negan have something in common, it seems.
