Vertu has once again launched another one of their luxury smartphones, this time called the Signature Touch, and while this is yet again another device that features a pretty lofty price tag, it also features some of the latest high-end internal specifications in the market rivaling the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8).
Some of these high-end internals featured in the Signature Touch include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and whopping 64GB of internal storage. It also runs Google’s latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and is equipped with a slew of connectivity features including 4G/LTE capability, Bluetooth with AptX support, NFC, and even wireless charging via Qi technology which is something you’ll need often with the battery’s surprisingly small 2,275 mAh battery.
The Signature Touch’ display is a 4.7-inch screen with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels giving it a solid screen density of 473 pixels per inch which is even higher than the HTC One (M8) at 441ppi. That screen is protected by a sheet of sapphire crystal glass which makes it nearly impossible to scratch. The Signature Touch also touts a 13-megapixel rear camera that’s been certified by the folks at Hasselblad, front-facing speakers which are individually tuned by Bang & Olufsen, and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.
The internals aren’t the only aspect of the Signature Touch that’s high-end and luxurious. The Signature Touch features a solid grade 5 titanium frame, hand-stitched calf leather, sculpted sapphire glass details, a polished ceramic pillow earpiece, and a flip-open SIM card compartment that’s opened with a D-ring latch. Lastly, each Signature Touch is hand- assembled by a single craftsman who signs each finished device they make.
All this hardware gives the Signature Touch a solid and hefty feel weighing in at around 192 grams and each device is tested at temperatures of as low as -45 degrees Celcius and as high as 80 degrees Celcius.
Even the Signature Touch’s software features a few inclusions that boast of luxury including Dolby Digital Plus to compliment the Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers, an exclusive set of ring and alert tones composed by renowned composers and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, wallpapers created from a selection of the London Nation Gallery’s most famous masterpieces.
Vertu is also providing a slew of services with the Signature Touch including a Life app that gives owners access to exclusive events and venues around the world, a suite of encryption and security features called Certainty, and a Concierge service which gives the user access to his or her own real-life personal assistant.
The Signature Touch is available in a range of skin, color, and material options which gives it a large price range from $10,300 for the basic model all the way up to $21,900 for the most high-end variant.
