It’s wedding bells again for Vanessa Williams as she has tied the knot with Jim Skrip. The couple was engaged last September and got married in a private ceremony on July 4, as confirmed by the representative of the actress to ET.
This is the third marriage for the actress and singer. The 52-year-old beauty was previously married to Rick Fox, former Los Angeles Laker, and Ramon Hervey, a movie producer.
The actress met Skrip in a cruise to Egypt in 2013. As CNN reports, William noticed Jim because he was wearing a Buffalo Sabres shirt, and her mother is from Buffalo, too. She asked him if he is from Buffalo and the answer was yes.
Williams and her daughter was on the Nile Cruise when she met Jim, a St. Bonaventure grad who lives in Depew. As told to Buffalo News previously, the star was having a long distance relationship with her man ever since they met.
Williams described Jim as “just a nice, regular, gorgeous guy.” She was quite excited about her engagement with Jim and marriage was on the cards for quite long. The details of the marriage are not provided by the representative of the star.
Vanessa Williams also happens to be the first African-American to be crowned Miss America back in 1983. However, she was not able to retain her crown due to controversies at that point and later launched herself as an entertainer.
Williams was the first Miss America contender who received death threats after she won the pageant. She was previously crowned Miss Syracuse and Miss New York 1983 before she entered the competition.
Vanessa Williams is most known for her acting in “Ugly Betty” where she received several Emmy nominations for the role. She also received several Grammy and Tony Award nominations. She has also released eight studio albums and was a successful model, too. She has four children with previous husbands. Three of them are with Hervey. She also has a daughter with Fox.
