US Election News: Donald Trump Tries Cinco De Mayo Approach On Hispanics, Hillary Clinton Goes After Trump, & More

Donald Trump says he “loves Hispanics.” It seems the only remaining GOP candidate is now taking a softer approach as he tried to win Latin American votes. Trump made it a point to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and even had a taco bowl to prove it.

He also took to Twitter to show off his meal, saying, “Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!”

Meanwhile, his latest tactic did not go unnoticed by leading Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. She immediately took to Twitter in response, saying that while he’s all about love as of the moment, his position was quite different yesterday. Of Hispanics, Clinton said that Trump had actually remarked, “They’re gonna be deported.”

Paul Ryan says he’s “not ready” to support Trump at the moment. During an interview for CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” the House Speaker candidly admitted, “I’m not there right now.”

Moreover, Ryan believes that the party must be unified, which is Trump’s task as of the moment. In response to Ryan’s interview, Trump issued a statement, saying, “I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda. Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people.”

Hillary Clinton goes after Trump. It seems that the former secretary of state is already focusing on the end game. Since Trump became the default Republican nominee, Clinton wasted no time launching campaigns against the businessman by restating some of the remarks he made recently and in the past.

For starters, Clinton wanted everyone to remember that Trump said he would end “birthright citizenship.” At the same time, she said that Trump “stood by his plans to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. and deport millions of immigrants.”

Moreover, Clinton pointed out that Trump’s endorsers are made up of “who’s who of extremism and hate.”

Bernie Sanders takes on poverty. The Vermont Senator, who has just taken victory at the recent Indiana primary, had gone to a meeting at a Five Loaves & Two Fishes Food Bank in McDowell County, West Virginia to discuss what he would do about poverty if he got elected president.

During his speech, Sanders made it clear that poverty is a big issue. For one thing, studies show that it leads to untimely deaths due to suicide and drug overdose. His solution? Sanders said he would expand Medicare; rebuild roads and bridges to create jobs and, lastly, introduce a $41 billion plan that would see coal workers in new industries paying a living wage.

Tow truck driver denies service to Sanders supporter. A tow truck driver in North Carolina has refused to tow a woman’s car in Asheville, N.C., on Monday after seeing her Sanders stickers.

According to a report from Fox News, Kenneth Shupe saw the Sanders paraphernalia and told her to “call the government” for assistance since she was “obviously a socialist.” Shupe is reportedly a Trump supporter.

Later on, the woman took to Facebook to point out that Shupe had “cost himself money” by driving to where her car was and back “for nothing.” Moreover, she also called him a “bigot.”
