After The Unicorn, Starbucks Starts Serving Mermaid Frappuccino

After being mesmerized by Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino, get ready to try its newest creation: the Mermaid Frappuccino.

You heard it right. There’s a new frappuccino in Starbucks and it’s gotten people thinking about mermaids. It’s mainly because of the color. After all the new drink is pretty pink with drizzles of green on all sides.

The new Mermaid Frappuccino is a proud creation of barista named Jocelyn Freeman. She has been a Starbucks partner for 12 years. Recently, she has found herself having to make “a ton of unicorn frappuccinos.” “I have never seen anything like this!” she remarked in an Instagram post. In fact, the idea to create another unique frappuccino came about because her Starbucks store in Bay City sold out on the Unicorn Frappuccino on the first day.

According to Jocelyn, the Mermaid Frappuccino is actually her unique take on another frappuccino in the Starbucks secret menu. This is known as the Pokémon Go frappuccino. In fact, her new drink is basically the same except that it does not contain any raspberry syrup.

According to the Starbucks Secret Menu website, the Mermaid Frappuccino is basically a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with some freeze dried whole blackberries blended in for the color. It is then topped with whipped cream before being given a special green drizzle.

The said drizzle is made with eight pumps of white mocha sauce, three pumps of toasted coconut syrup and three heaping scoops of matcha. All these ingredients are then mixed in a pitcher until it is smooth before being transferred into a gravity bottle for easy drizzling.

There’s another version of the Mermaid Frappuccino.

On the other hand, other Starbucks baristas have also given the Mermaid Frappuccino their own unique twist. Instead of making a green drizzle, they made a purple one instead. This is done by combining some white mocha sauce and freeze dried blackberries. At the same time, Starbucks fans can also have a Mermaid Frappuccino with the Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino as a base. All it needs is the purple drizzle.

Meanwhile, prepare for more excitingly colorful drinks to be served at Starbucks in the near future. The company’s former CEO Howard Shultz recently remarked, “Just stay tuned because we have a lot more coming.” According to a report from CNBC, new Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson even said they will try to outperform the Unicorn Frappuccino with their upcoming drinks.

“We will bring at least one new entirely new drink into Happy Hour this year that is going to be as good as Unicorn or better,” Johnson said.
