One set of twin sisters has made their pregnancy special by giving birth on the same day, at the same hospital.
Fraternal twin sisters Danielle Grant and Kim Abraham were born just one minute apart. And ever since, their bond has been incredibly close. In fact, their bond has become so tight that somehow, they due dates ended up syncing together.
For the record, Grant and Abraham did not intend to get pregnant at the same time. ” Total coincidence. We both wanted babies, but we didn’t think we would get pregnant the same time,” Grant explained. “This was not planned.” And when it happened, the two women were soon in for another surprise. It turns out both were also having a boy.
Grant and Abraham discovered this during a special reveal party that the two held together. Months ago, the two women shot off a canon to reveal the gender of their babies. According to a report from Asbury Park Press, both ended up with blue confetti. After that, the coincidences kept piling up. They were even given the same due date: April 22. “We just kept one-upping the coincidences. It’s the best thing in the world. We’re real close and our husbands are real close,” Abraham said.
Twin sisters decided to induce on the same day.
Oddly enough, neither women ended up going into labor during their due dates. And when the date passed, that’s when they decided they would induce their pregnancies on the same day.
That’s how both Grant and Abraham found themselves at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick on Friday. Though they could not be in the same delivery room, the sisters ended up being just a room apart. Once they were in the hospital though, not everything continued to go in sync.
In the end, Grant ended up giving birth first. She delivered 8-pound, 12-ounce baby Roman at 11:42 AM. Four hours later, Abraham delivered 9-pound, 12-ounce baby Aaron at 3:21 PM. Both babies are healthy and happy. It’s a special moment for both sisters with Grant giving her birth to her second child and Abraham becoming a mom for the first time.
Today, the moms are now talking about everything their babies would do together. “We’ll dress them in the same outfit. We were dressed alike but in different colors growing up, so we’re going to torture them like that, too,” Grant remarked. They also plan to hold their birthday parties together.
The moms and babies both went home on Sunday.
