The Hills star Ryan Cabrera recently admitted that his on screen relationship with Audrina Patridge was just all for show.
The “True: singer, who had a stint in the now defunct television reality show The Hills, revealed in an interview that what fans see them doing in “The Hills” was all fake.
He clarified though that his relationship with Audrina Patridge at that time was genuine, but everything they went through on the show were scripted.
“But what was going on in our real lives and our actual relationship was completely, completely different,” the 33-year-old singer said. “And no one really knew about — or will ever know that part because it’s private, but when you film for the show, you go along with the storyline. That’s just a scripted story of what would appear to be reality.”
“It just so happened my girlfriend was on the show at the time, and they wanted to film and I was just like whatever.”
In a 2010 interview, “The Hills” star Audrina Patridge was the first one who revealed that she faked romantic scenes with him for the cameras.
The two even had to play as if they are still in love when in fact they decided to call their four-month relationship off.
“I pretty much do anything they have me do because I don’t care,” she said to The Daily Mail. “I mean, we’re filming a TV show. Let’s make it interesting. Let’s have a good time with it.
Ryan Cabrera also revealed that his ex-girlfriend Ashlee Simpson’s own reality show was the real one.
Aired from 2004 to 2005, Ashlee Simpson and Ryan Cabrera, then a couple, were followed around and just let them be the way they are without the staff intruding.
“They just followed us around. TV shows at that time were completely different. They literally just followed you around with a camera and whatever happened, happened,” he said.
