Tesla Model 3 will be available both in sedan and crossover form, announced the company on Thursday. The model will not be just another car from the company but will have features of crossover models.
Tesla’s chief technical officer, Jeffrey Brian Straubel, revealed the plan of the company earlier this week in Washington, DC. The model 3 of the company that was officially announced in 2014 will be on the road in the latter half of 2016 or the first half of 2017.
Tesla Model 3 will be priced around $35,000 and it will be a competitor to electric cars from some of the big brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. The car may possibly have a driving range of 320km. The company is also promoting its Model S, which will provide a driving range between 440 to 520 kilometers.
The chief technical officer also made a statement regarding the next model of the company. He said that the company has already started working on the next model but details are still to come. He also confirmed the earlier claims of Elon Musk, the company CEO, who said that the company is aiming to sell 500,000 cars every year by 2020. Tesla already has 16,500 cars running on the road of the U.S. in 2014.
