A U.S.-supported militant group from Syria has brutally beheaded a child, as shown in a recently posted video, causing public outrage.
It was reported that the video was filmed by the fighters from a U.S.-sponsored Syrian militant group. According to the Daily Mail, the video shows Nour al-Din al-Zenki militants of Syria on the back of a truck with a child. In the footage, the militants claim the young boy was an al-Quds soldier supporting Assad’s Syrian forces.
In the video, one of the militants places a small knife on the boy’s throat, shouting “Allahu Akbar” meaning “God is great.” The militant then cuts the boy’s head off.
The footage had been circulated on social media on Tuesday. The al-Quds Brigade is the militant wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement, which fights alongside the Syrian government forces.
After the footage was circulated, the al-Quds Brigades, armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement, issued a statement. In the statement, the group denied that the boy was a member.
The militant group identified the boy as a 12-year-old Palestinian refugee.
Press TV reported that the graphic footage was filmed before the boy was slaughtered. The video shows the boy in ragged clothes. The boy is surrounded by bearded militants on the back of a pick-up truck. One of the militants holds him by the hair then slaps him in the face.
It looks like the boy was beaten and might have been tortured before he was murdered in the video, as signified by his torn clothes and the scars on his arms.
Severe denouncement of the beheading came from local residents. They said that the entire ordeal denegrated the image of the Syria opposition.
“How could they slaughter a child like this?” said barber Bassel Zein. “He should have been tried in a fair way instead of this heinous act.”
