Casting for Superman has been done and dusted and you will never believe who has finally been selected to portray the iconic role in “Supergirl” Season 2.
After announcing a casting call for the role of the Man Of Steel, the showrunners have finally found their Superman – It’s Tyler Hoechin from “Teen Wolf”!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Kreisberg, the Executive Producer of “Supergirl” said in a statement “Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
“Supergirl” finally will be getting some much-dreaded competition from her cousin, who only lurked in shadows and chat messages in Season 1. After a spaceship from Krypton was shown to land on earth in the season finale of “Supergirl, “carrying something or someone, Supergirl will be seen teaming up with cousin, Superman to fight the entity together in season 2.

However, Superman will not be a series regular, since the entire point of the show is solely focus on Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl, and how she uses her powers to save National City.
Besides, if Superman permanently shifted to National City, who will look after Metropolis?
Hence, the showrunners had decided that Superman will be called in to do a cameo for just a couple of episodes, in order to boost the ratings of “Supergirl,” reports IGN. Also, the actor who would be portraying the role has to be just right. After all, donning the red and blue suit is no joke.
Superman For ‘Supergirl’
Tyler Hoechin is best known for portraying one of the main leads in the hit teenage drama “Teen Wolf” in its first 4 seasons. He later took up many other roles in movies such as 7th Heaven, Hall Pass, Solstice, Road to Perdition and Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.
