Who knew that a switch of network is all it takes to bring a string of new characters on a show? Supergirl, now on CW, will introduce five new interesting and diverse individuals in season 2!
‘Supergirl’ on CW
Ever since Supergirl flew from CBS to CW, bigger and better things are happening for her and her show. It was a reported just a few days ago that Superman would be making an appearance on Supergirl season 2, something that has sent all the DC fans into frenzy. Now, news about five new and exciting additions in the upcoming season, are pouring in, all of whom are sure to boost the ratings of the show.
First in the lineup is Lena Luthor, who is the younger sister of Lex Luthor, the psychopathic villain of the movie Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. According to TVLine, she might be moving to National City to get away from being overshadowed by her criminal brother. But whether she’ll be as cunning as her brother is still to be seen.
Nick Farrow, is another character who is all set to join the brigade at Supergirl. However, he might not be good news for Kara, for he is reported to go up against her in Catco. His character has been described as the son of a famous journalist who is “looking to make a name for himself in the news world but the question of whether he can leave behind his former selfish and hedonistic ways will constantly arise. In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick might finally come out.” Could that be a hint at a new superhero, who would assist Supergirl in the future?
‘Supergirl’ Season 2 News
Moving on, the third one is more of an out and out villain than anything else. The character going by the name “The Doctor,” whose main agenda revolves around injecting alien DNAs into prisoners, as part of Project Cadmus.
Snapper Carr is the fourth one – an old veteran journalist, selected by Cat herself. And the fifth one is Maggie, a detective involved with the Science Police, a division that is dedicated to fighting the metahumans and aliens.
But according to TV Guide, these new entries might be a ruse to cover up the exit of everyone’s favorite, Cat Grant, played by Calista Flockhart. Though reports about it are still unconfirmed, it was reported earlier that Calista might not be returning for the second season of the show, following a change in the venue from Los Angeles to Vancouver.
