The whole of America, plus several other football-loving countries, were glued in front of their TV’s (if not live on the Levi’s Stadium) for the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime show on Sunday, February 7. Everyone was ecstatic for Coldplay’s performance aside from their album tour, except Taraji P. Henson, who was probably watching the wrong channel.
A fan-mode-on Henson expressed her excitement over the much awaited halftime show, only to mistake the main act Coldplay for Maroon 5. Henson posted “YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!! #Maroon5 is life to me!!! #superbowl50 #HappyCamper I am,” which was immediately deleted after, reports Billboard.
As of that moment, no one knew why Taraji Henson got confused with Chris Martin and Adam Levine. Was it because she was seated far from the stage that the sight of the performers were too little to notice? Or maybe she was really pertaining to an inside joke that involves Maroon 5 and the Super Bowl, which only she knows about? Or what if she doesn’t know which is Coldplay and which is Maroon 5?
A good sport, Adam Levine (who was probably rolling out on the floor laughing), reposted Henson’s video with a caption, “THIS.” Taraji Henson eventually learned that she was mistaken and countered her post with another that goes, “Oooooooopppps. Lmao! #Superbowl50,” while maybe sinking herself in her suite.
Entertainment Tonight didn’t let Henson get away with this and asked for a forgivable explanation. “I don’t know if you know how it goes down in the suites,” explained the 45-year-old actress. “They put a lot of drinks in there – Kool-Aid, lemonade, iced tea. I mixed it all and I sat there and I’m sitting with people who drank the Kool-Aid as well.”
