Warner Bros. has finally confirmed the release of an extended cut for Suicide Squad. The studio made its announcement along with release dates and pricing of Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD for David Ayer’s film.
Fans were initially excited by the news as it also confirmed 13 minutes of extra footage in the extended edition. However, the celebration was soon replaced with disappointment as the Blu-ray release was revealed to be delayed by a month after the release of Digital HD in USA.
Recently, DC fans were left frustrated by a new announcement on the Blu-ray release. A Brazilian website posted a report confirming the Blu-ray release date for Suicide Squad.
According to O Vicio, Warner Bros. will be releasing Suicide Blu-ray in Brazil five days earlier than the official dates given for USA. The physical copy will be available for purchase on December 8. However, the Digital HD will be released worldwide on November 15.
Fans on Reddit have been sharing their regret over the delayed release date. However, it looks like most of the DC Community is mainly excited by the “extended cut” announcement itself.
Currently, Suicide Squad Blu-ray is available for pre-order on Amazon. Furthermore, the website has updated its catalogue with limited edition copies as well.
The extended cut teaser trailer has already hinted scenes revealing the origin of Harley Quinn. Although fans got to see the action sequence in a leaked footage, the clip did not contain audio, leaving fans with theories rather than answers.
There were also images of Jared Leto’s The Joker, his face burned from a grenade blast. Furthermore, it was revealed that there were scenes revealing the abuse of Joker on Harley Quinn.
