WinkPens is a brand developed by the industrial designer, Jessica Chan. The idea is to make your readily-available liquids at home – your wine, tea or coffee – as ink to write with.
The idea was an offshoot of Chan’s search of sustainable inks. She then realized we can all use our home stuff to draw a sketch of a beet tree or a simple note on paper. That’s pretty much like creating a Mona Lisa with Oolong tea.
It’s super cool and friendly to nature. Plus, the idea of having almost unlimited ink within your reach is exciting.
Also, instead of throwing off your pen cases, WinkPens has a reusable case that you can refill ink with.
According to its Kickstarter page, WinkPens is “reusable, sustainable, and long-lasting. Helps mitigate ‘throwaway’ culture and there’s also the added benefit of having inexpensive ink available virtually anywhere!”
You can back the project up from $5 to $500 or more. You only have a few hours left though.
