Starbucks has the perfect remedy for the common cold, and it is as tasty as it is therapeutic! No wonder it has become so popular among Starbucks regulars that they decided to make it a regular part of their menu.
Starbucks’ newest popular drink is called “Honey Citrus Mint Tea.” Some regulars have come to call the drink the Medicine Ball tea. It’s also known as the Cold Buster.
The Cold Buster started as a popular off-menu item.
Fortune reported that the company decided to make the drink a regular item after an internal discussion among store managers. It started when a manager posted on the internal messaging system that his baristas were making more than 20 Cold Busters a day after someone saw an ad on Instagram. He expressed his concern that he wasn’t sure if his team got the recipe right.
In response, almost 40 other store managers said that they were also selling the drink like hotcakes. Starbucks president and COO Kevin Johnson then shared the story during the company’s annual shareholder meeting. This is how the drink became a standard menu item. At the same time, the Medicine Ball finally got a standard recipe card.
According to Starbucks, it starts with 1/2 steamed lemonade, 1/2 hot water and honey. Afterwards, two special tea bags are infused into the drink. These are the Teavana Jade Citrus Mint green tea and Teavana Peach Tranquility herbal tea. If you’d like, you can ask Starbucks to add an extra pump of peppermint. The result is a drink that can give you instant relief after a few sips, especially if you have a nasty cold. One customer also stated that the drink is amazing because it is filled with vitamin C and a number of antioxidants.
Starbucks also has some refreshing fruity coolers.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for other drinks that are also fruity and healthy, Starbucks has also introduced the Evolution Fresh Coolers recently. The menu item is a combination of cold-pressed juice and cold-brewed tea. It has no flavors, sweeteners of preservatives. It comes in three amazing flavors, Tropical Hibiscus, Raspberry Citrus and Blueberry Mint. These 11-ounce Coolers only have less than 100 calories each.
Indeed, Starbucks has the drinks to make you feel better.
