When we stay in a beautiful place among lovely people, it’s customary to thank them for the hospitality. That was what the Star Wars crew did. After their successful shooting in Ireland, thanks to the support of the locals, the team decided to officially thank West Cork for welcoming them.
Star Wars Episode 8 Ireland shoot
According to Belfast Telegraph, Star War’s cast and crew posted a thank you message via a local newspaper, addressing the locals and crew in Crookhaven and Goleen. The crew was on-the-go when they travelled to Cork via a private Boeing 767-300, after which they spent two days in the region. Later, they travelled to Kerry to film Skellig Micheal’s bee huts, then moved on to other locations as well.
They saw Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) waving around at the people during the shoot. Other cast members such as Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), along with director Rian Johnson, were also present. The newspaper concluded their warm message with a translated slogan that would give an Star Wars fan the goosebumps. “Go mbeidh an fórsa leat!! – May the force be with you!!”
Last month, a fan got into the set of Star Wars: Episode 8 and managed to grab a few clicks of the props. The images of the Millennium Falcon, the surrounding trees, and the steep land indicated that the movie will continue exactly where Rey and Luke had their first encounter. Moreover, a video also surfaced suggesting the title of Episode 8 as “Fall of Resistance.”
