A homicide investigation is underway at Stamford Daycare after a two-month-old baby girl was found dead.
According to police officials, baby Bella Redondo’s family is inconsolable. Little Bella was being observed on the second floor of the day care inside the Stamford home. ABC reported that the Medical Examiner said the baby died of blunt force trauma to the head. The proprietor of Stamford Daycare center is going to face charges.
Little Bella was born on April 24, 2016.
A statement was made by Stamford Police saying that law enforcement officers confirmed that Bella passed away under mysterious circumstance, thus an investigation is being conducted.
Stamford EMS was dispatched to the daycare center at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said that the center is located on the East Side of Stamford.
The Daily Voice reported that EMS responded fast; they transported the baby to Stamford Hospital without any delay. However, the moment the baby reached the hospital, she stopped breathing. Doctors tried to save little Bella, but they were not successful. It was about 6:20 p.m. when Bella was declared dead.
The major question being asked right now is: was Bella’s death the result of an intentional strike or a fall due to negligence?
“The baby was being watched at a day care center in the home,” said Lieutenant Diedrich Hohn of the Stamford Police Department.
“We’re looking at a fall. We’re looking at any mechanism of injury that could have caused this kind of trauma to the skull.”
Hohn also said that police have narrowed the suspects down to three people in the Stamford Daycare.
