SpongeBob SquarePants has been one of the most discussed Nickelodeon TV series this October. Early this month, fans were left awestruck after an image announced that October 17 will be the last date of the show’s airing.

SpongeBob SquarePants is a nine-time Emmy nominee. It has been airing since 1999. However, rumors began suggesting that season 9 will be the last of the long-running TV show.

The cancellation rumor spread like wildfire on the internet. Fans started to pour their emotions on social media. Finally, a report from Snopes clarified the news.

According to Snopes, the image claiming the end of SpongeBob SquarePants was a hoax. Furthermore, the website approached a Nickelodeon representative, who said, “No, the show isn’t cancelled.”

Unfortunately, the statement couldn’t stop fabricated memes from misleading the audience. The hoax news continued to circulate Facebook and was also reported by various websites.

Fortunately, Nickelodeon has stepped up to ease tensions and clear the chaos among fans. The TV channel recently posted on Twitter with a “Breaking News.”

While fans were initially shocked by the tweet, the TV network assured that “October 17th is nothing more than a Monday.” Furthermore, it stressed that SpongeBob SquarePants “is NOT being cancelled!” Fans can check the tweet below.

The official tweet from Nickelodeon has brought back fans’ faith in the series. Furthermore, it has begun shattering all manipulative images on social media.

The IMDb page of SpongeBob SquarePants also confirmed a season 10 for the TV series. According to the website, its first episode titled “Whirly Brains” will be aired on October 15.
