Russia and China have found allies in one another after reports of military coordination betrayed what looked like a show of force against the United States. Nonetheless, Russia and China reiterated that they do not want a confrontation with the West despite signs and warnings. Are Beijing and Moscow working on a hidden agenda?
Russia and China Unite
China’s bid in the South China Sea has found constant opposition from the United States. However, despite calls from Asian neighbors, China has made it clear that it plans to push its claims. While Beijing claims that it is not militarizing the region, recent actions alarmed Southeast Asian nations regarding the true motive of the country.
It also does not help that China has been preparing for the Joint Sea-2016 naval drills with Russia. The program will take place in the South China Sea region from September 11 to September 19. While military coordination is nothing new, experts warned that this could contribute to the rising tension over the South China Sea.

According to Pravda, it appears that China and Russia are uniting against the United States. Previously, U.S. accused the two nations of their “intention to aggravate complicated state of affairs in the South China Sea.”
Russia and China Do Not Want War?
Another report from RT claims that Russia and China made it clear that they no longer desire having a confrontation with the U.S.
“The Chinese side made it a priority for itself: to weaken the push of certain countries for geopolitical rivalry,” explained Dmitry Kosyrev, a political analyst specializing on the Far East at the leading Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
“The whole idea of the peaceful rise of China is that this rise is not directed against any other country.”
