Unlike other smartphone series from well-known brands that target a particular segment of society, Sony’s Xperia series is for everyone, as it has decent budget phones as well as excellent high-end phones.
Xperia Z5 is one such device. It has a brilliant camera and wonderful specs. So why are Sony smartphones not as popular as iPhones or Samsung’s Galaxy line?
Xperia Z5 specs
With a 23-megapixel camera, it is one of the best camera phones available in the market today. Even Samsung is said to be adopting Xperia Z5’s IMX300 sensor for its upcoming phone, “Galaxy S7,” to improve the results of its camera. Sony has not stopped there; it has done a remarkable job when it comes to display. This 5.2-inch FHD screen comes with Triluminos display and X-Reality. Apart from that, Xperia Z5 is also dust and waterproof.
Then what is going against “Xperia Z5“ or the Xperia series as a whole? The design is one of the top reasons. It has been a long time since Xperia introduced different-looking phones in the market. With few smartphone manufacturers out there, almost all their devices look alike. This is what customers do not want. Taking the concern into notice, Motorola is now focusing on customizable skins. At times like these, Sony should give customers better-looking phones, not rectangular boxes they are selling now.
Snapdragon 810, Android Lollipop and 2900 mAh battery can be other factors contributing to the phone’s low sales. If we compare other high-end devices, Xperia Z5 lags behind. We now have smartphones coming to the market with Snapdragon 820, Android Marshmallow and batteries above 3,000 mAh. These specs justify their price tags.
The Xperia series need to focus on updating its device when it comes to software, battery and the chip. Chances are, the company may see a rise in sales.
