A previously leaked Sony device has resurfaced and many are claiming that it is the Sony Xperia XR. The device bearing the model number F8331 has once again come out in the open, spurring yet new rounds of rumors on what the company truly has in store for its smartphone line.
Most techies are under the impression that Sony has diverted all of its focus on the Sony Xperia X series. Hence, all other lines under the Sony banner have taken a backseat, most believing that there is nothing more to look forward to. That was until the leaked renders came out.
With IFA 2016 happening this September, there is a good chance that the alleged Sony Xperia XR will be there, hints Android Headlines. If so, this means that the Japanese company may possibly show off two lines with the other being the Sony Xperia X.
Revival of the Sony Xperia XR
Technically, the Sony Xperia XR is not something many would rave about. As mentioned earlier on, this is basically a rebooted leak that came out before.
The latest leaks show no glaring differences from the first renders. That includes a device bearing the same placement and styled rear camera and a USB Type-C port by the usual bottom of the handset.
Other than that, the rest of the specs pretty much point to the old revelation back in July.
For those who missed out on the first leaks, here are the specs that came out in the open last month.
The Sony Xperia XR (F8331) will tote a 5.1 or 5.3-inch full HD screen and run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. It will feature a 23 MP main camera and a 13 MP front-facing camera with the device measuring around 146.4 x 71.9 x 8.1mm.
Like its previous offerings, the cameras are the limelight for the Sony Xperia XR. Will it be at IFA 2016 next month?
