Along with a slew of new video game announcements and the announcement of the Playstation TV, Sony also announced a white version of their next-generation console the Playstation 4 during the company’s press conference at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
The white version of the Playstation 4, dubbed “Glacier White”, will be released alongside a line of “Glacier white” console accessories including a white Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller and a white PS4 Vertical Stand.
In North America, Latin America and Europe, Sony will be selling the “Glacier White” Playstation 4 as part of a bundle pack featuring Destiny, the upcoming highly anticipated first-person multiplayer shooter from developer Bungie. The bundle, priced at an SRP of US$449/ €439, will also come with a free 30-day PS Plus membership.
Buyers in Europe will also be able to purchase the white Playstation 4 and PS4 Vertical Stand separately at an SRP of €399 and €19, respectively. Sadly, both the white console and vertical stand will not be available for sale separately in North America but the vertical stand will be included, in limited supply, with the Destiny Bundle.
On the other hand, the “Glacier White” Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller will be sold separately in all previously mentioned territories for an SRP of US$59/ €59. Joining the “Glacier White” Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller will be the also announced “Urban Camouflage” controller which will be sold at the same price.
Sony has mentioned that the pricing for each of aforementioned products for Japan and other Asian territories will be announced at a later date.
The “Glacier White” Playstation 4 as well as the Destiny bundles will be available on September 9, 2014. Sony also announced that Destiny will also be featured in bundles with the original Jet Black Playstation 4 as well as the Piano Black Playstation 3.
