Like always, the week won’t end without a couple of new device releases. One of which is this 2-in-1 Windows device that was just announced this Thursday, March 31. The new device is a laptop and/or tablet whichever the user prefers to call it and it is named the Smartron t.Book. This new made in India product was unveiled in a media event in New Delhi.
The device from the upcoming brand based in India, comes as a tablet with a flip-stand and a detachable keyboard, which quickly turns into a full-fledged laptop. It has an aluminium and magnesium body and comes with a 12.2-inch WQXGA IPS display and a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1600. It maintains an aspect ratio of 16:10 and comes coated with a fingerprint resistant oleophobic layer, reports Gadgets 360.
Smartron t.Book runs a Windows 10 operating system with an Intel Core M 64-bit processor and a cache of 4MB, a turbo frequency of 2GHz and a 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. It comes with a storage space of 128GB SSD. Gizmotimes adds that the new laptop sports a 5 megapixel autofocus rear shooter and a 2 megapixel HD front shooter.
It is powered by a 10,000 mAH battery which the company claims can last up to 10 hours on a single charge while web browsing and up to 28 days on standby time. The new laptop or tablet device comes either with the Windows 10 Home for the standard version and Windows 10 Pro for the t.Book Pro, along with a pre-loaded Microsoft Office 2016 30 day trial.
Additionally, t.Book comes with two full-size USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C port for charging with USB3.0. It also has one micro-HDMI port, a 3.5mm jack, a microSD slot and a magnetic pogo pin for external keyboard support. It supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and MIMO in terms of connectivity options.
The Smartron device is available in two color variants which are Grey and Orange. It will be exclusively sold for 39,999 INR on Gadgets360 starting this April 8. However, registration for the device has already started so anyone who wants one should probably check the site now.
