“Basic Instinct” actress Sharon Stone makes living proof it is possible to defy age as she poses nude for Harper’s Bazaar September issue, showcasing killer curves in black-and-white photos.
“If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did #BasicInstinct, then we’d all be having a hard day today,” said fifty-seven-year-old Stone as quoted by the magazine.
During the interview by the magazine, the acclaimed actress revealed her plight when she was diagnosed with aneurysm in 2001 and the cerebral hemorrhage that came after. She recalled that when she checked out from the hospital, she was limping, stuttering and worse, she couldn’t read.
“I thought, ‘You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I’m going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that’s going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up. That’s just the way it is, so I’d better get humble and shut the fuck up and do the job. Because if I can’t do this job, I’m certainly not going to be able to do anything else’.”
On brain hemorrhage
Stone recalled to Bazaar the days when she learned about her bleeding. During the three days that she was unwell and before finally deciding to head on to the emergency room, she had a stroke as told by her doctor when she regained consciousness.
“When I came to, the doctor was leaning over me. I said, ‘Am I dying?’ And he said, ‘You’re bleeding into your brain,’” she said.
“I said, ‘I should call my mom,’ and he said, ‘you’re right. You could lose the ability to speak soon,’” she continued in her recollection.
Sharon Stone will star in “Agent X” which will run on TNT. The new series is also executive-produced by her and she plays the role of U.S. Vice-President.
