Speculations are high that Robert Downey, Jr will not return for Iron Man 4, but now it seems that they are wrong this time. The actor who plays the billionaire superhero will be seen in the next movie of the franchise.
The star is supposed to be seen in “Captain America: Civil War,” and we had him in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” but that does not mean he will be keeping Iron Man 4 at bay.
According to Master Herald, Shane Black, the director, strongly believes that Robert Downey Jr will be back for Iron Man 4. There were reports that a young actor, Ty Simpkins will take over Robert in the next movie and wear the suit of the superhero. After the confirmation from Shane Black, speculations can rest.
It is also heard that Robert Downey Jr asked for an increase in his talent fees, which was $50 million for “Iron Man 3.” However, this shall not be a problem for the franchise. “Iron Man 3” from Marvel Studios is one of the eight highest grossing movies of all time. The worldwide box office haul was $1.22 billion. So even if the actor wants more, Marvel Studios will be happy to give in.
Months back, Downey Jr, while talking about Iron Man 4 said, “They said to me, ‘If we have you, we can do this, or Cap 3 has to be something else.’ It’s nice to feel needed. And at this point it’s about helping each other, too.
“I look at it as a competition and I go, ‘Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along.'”
According to The Bit Bag, RDJ has plans to stop working as a superhero before he turns 50. Many fear“Iron Man 3” will be his last superhero movie. The Iron Man 4 release date will possibly be in 2019 as the actor is too tied up with other projects. Till then, feast your eyes on “Avengers: Infinity War” and other movies that the actor has signed up for.
