Mary Nunes, 19, who claims to be sexually abused at the age of 8, has reappeared in court after she disappeared in 2004. Her mother Genevieve Kelley and stepfather are facing kidnapping charges.
Kelley claimed her daughter Mary Nunes was sexually abused by her father when she was 8. She slapped a sexual abuse case against Mary’s father, Mark Nunes, and took Mary with her to Central America. When the incident took place, Mary’s parents were involved in a custody battle in New Hampshire.
Mary had been missing since 2004. Her father hired a private investigator to trace his missing daughter and her mother but was unsuccessful. Now, Mary’s mother and stepfather Scott Kelley face charges of non-custodial kidnapping, with an arrest warrant issued.
After the separation from her ex-husband, Kelly had the primary custody of her daughter, but since she skipped court cases repeatedly, the custody had been handed over to the biological father.
Kelly’s lawyer, Alan Rosenfield, claims his client is innocent, having escaped for the sake of her child.
