To boost its sales, Samsung is planning to launch a tablet with a bigger screen. A few days back, we reported about Samsung working on an 18.4-inch tablet which is codenamed “Tahoe.”
At IFA 2015, Samsung has confirmed the news, giving the crowd a glimpse of the tablet. Before the teaser began, Younghee Lee, Samsung’s Global Marketing Executive Vice President, said, “In the spirit of boldness, we’re planning yet another adventure. Here’s a little glimpse of what we mean. A whole new mobile viewing experience for a new generation.”
The teaser though was not long enough for the people present at the event to guess the features, but here are some of the rumored specifications that experts believe to be true:
1. Display: 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution
2. Operating System: Android Lollipop 5.1
3. Processor: octa-core 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor
4. Camera: 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front camera
5. Storage: 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage
6. MicroSD Card: Yes
7. Battery: 5700 mAh
For tablet lovers, this gadget from Samsung might be something to look forward to. But if you are a fan of AMOLED technology displays, then Samsung Galaxy View is not for you. The company has decided to skip this display technology which is common with the brand’s other products. Why? No one knows. Maybe it’s just another effort to bring a tablet to the market that is not exactly a smartphone.
This 18.4-inch Samsung Galaxy View will be out in October. Till then, we will have to keep guessing what is in store for the tablet lovers. Regarding such, Samsung said, “There are clearly a lot more questions surrounding Samsung’s new mystery slate, but the company said we’d have to wait until October to find out what this entertainment behemoth is really capable of.”
So, October it is!
